We are in the midst of a midlife reset. Not a crisis. Starting over at 35, building a life from scratch.
I never could have imagined that 35 would look like this. Starting our entire life from scratch. Some days, I’m really not sure what the way forward is. It’s so effortless to slip into a trap of feeling sorry for ourselves, feeling useless, carrying to burden of shame and judgment. But the beauty of home is that there’s always the next task to complete.
No more emotional roller coasters. If I want a plain life, I’ll have to walk a plain path.
I recently heard this verse and it struck me as so fitting for what’s been on my heart lately. Ironically, this brand we have been wanting and trying to build for several years is called Plain Living. And right here in God’s word, I see that request to just lead us in a plain path Lord!
A plain path is a level one. Balanced. Smooth. No ups and downs to shake you up. Just steady, consistent, one step in front of the other, day after day, plugging along.
That’s how you reset. That’s how you build a life. We know we can make it. You can too. We want to be an encouragement in a way that no one was for us. That it’s okay to start over.
