Why Reach Out?

People from all over the U.S. (and even around the world!) get in touch for a lot of reasons. Maybe one of these sounds like you:

  • Cooking From Scratch – Do you have questions about sourdough starters, fresh-milled wheat, or scratch recipes that fit your family’s lifestyle? I love hearing what’s cooking in kitchens from New England to California. Our maybe you want to share a photo of one of my recipes that you made- send it over!
  • Sewing Tutorials & Patterns – Whether you sew at the kitchen table in a farmhouse, or in a city apartment, sewing brings people together. When I learned to sew, there weren’t many resources available and I learned a lot of things the hard way. Don’t be afraid to ask questions- I’ll be glad to share what I’ve learned. If you’ve tried one of my patterns, let me know how it went!
  • Homeschool Resources – Families across the country are creating their own paths in education. If you’d like encouragement, resources, or conversation about homeschooling, I’d love to help.
  • Hope Chest Ideas – The Hope Chest is a dying, forgotten tradition. But it doesn’t have to be. Let’s bring it back, together. From Southern traditions to Midwestern practicality, hope chests connect generations everywhere. Share your stories and skills so we can learn together.

Wherever you’re located, I’d love to hear from you. Tell me what you’re learning, share your family’s story, or ask a question. I’ll do my best to reply quickly.

Why we’re here…

Plain living isn’t about doing less—it’s about choosing what matters most, no matter where you live. From sourdough in the South to sewing in the Midwest, homeschooling on the West Coast, or missionary life in South Dakota, this community is proof that simple skills can thrive anywhere.
