Lime popsicles
Summertime always feels like the perfect season for citrus. I knew I wanted to make some homemade lime popsicles, but I wasn’t sure if I should make them more complex. As I worked on a test batch, I was tempted to throw in some cream cheese for a key lime pie style flavor, or some kiwi for sweetness. But in the end I decided to keep it simple. I think you’ll love this recipe!
Why you’ll love these lime popsicles
This recipe is so incredibly simple! Just three ingredients. It’s definitely one of our family favorites.
The kids loved this zesty lime recipe because it was different from our usual. Typically our popsicles are ultra sweet, rich and creamy, or luscious dessert style. But these are bright and crisp. They’re not overly sweet.
The base recipe lives plenty of room for extras. Experiment with some add ins. Throw in some cream cheese to make key lime pie recipe. Add mint for unique flavor profile. Add lemon for a lemon-lime delight.
How to make your lime popsicles
Popsicles in general are so simple to make. Blend. Pour. Freeze. That’s it, really.
I’ve tried several different types of popsicles molds. We wanted to be less wasteful and tried the mold that comes with its own plastic reusable sticks. Of, course, we lost all the sticks. But we finally landed on a silicone mold that we love!
When I purchased this set, it was under $10 for 2 molds, making a total of 8 popsicles at one time. I can’t promise what the price will be when you shop, but I’m confident it will be affordable.
Tips for the best lime popsicles
- fresh lime juice will be the best. the liquid content of each lime will be different, so you may have to do additional limes or add some water to the recipe to make enough
- after blending, let the popsicle mix rest for a few minutes. then tap the blended on the counter to remove some bubbles.
- when you take these out of the mold, serve them on a platter of ice. it will help them last a bit longer while out of the freezer, and it will be a beautiful presentation

These homemade lime popsicles were the perfect summer treat! I love how refreshing they are with only 3 simple ingredients—it makes them so quick to whip up. They reminded me of the lime ice pops we used to get here in Georgia during hot afternoons, but these are even better because they’re fresh and homemade. I’ll be making a batch to share with neighbors and bringing them to our next family cookout. This is such an easy recipe for anyone looking for a healthy, refreshing lime popsicle to cool off in the Southern heat!
