Greek seasoning blend

The basis of the flavors can be achieved with just a few seasonings to make a Greek spice blend. This spice blend is perfect to make a marinade, a salad dressing, or to sprinkle over veggies you want to roast. It’s so easy to make and have prepared ahead of time!

Servings 4

Equipment

  • 1 coffee grinder optional

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 Tbs oregano
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp rosemary optional
  • 1/2 tsp thyme optional
  • 1/2 tsp marjoram optional
  • 1/2 tsp tarragon optional

Instructions

  • Mix the ingredients together, then store in an airtight jar.
  • Place into a coffee grinder in batches. Grind for 8-10 seconds to eliminate larger herb chunks.

Notes

These 4 herbs are optional in my recipe. The recipe is still delicious without them. If your spice cabinet doesn’t contain these less popular herbs, just skip them. But if you have them on hand, try them in this seasoning blend! You won’t regret it! The marjoram gives a slightly licorice flavor- I know it doesn’t sound good, but it adds so much depth to the flavor. The tarragon gives a sweetness to help balance out all the earthy flavors. Thyme and rosemary are excellent aromatics. I tend to add these particularly if I’m making chicken or roasted potatoes.
