- ½ cup ketchup
- 2 Tbs grated horseradish plus more to taste
Add the ketchup and 1 tablespoon grated horseradish to a small bowl.
Stir until well mixed.
Taste and add more horseradish for extra heat.
Serve with shrimp, fish, crab cakes, fries, or hush puppies. Cover and refrigerate if making ahead.
I like a spicy sauce, so I use 2 tablespoons of horseradish or more.
Freshly grated horseradish is my first choice when it’s available.
Jarred ground or grated horseradish works well. Choose the grated root product rather than a creamy horseradish sauce.
Fresh root will add time to the prep.
If the sauce is too spicy, stir in more ketchup.
