Creamy homemade white hot chocolate made with milk, Lily’s white chocolate-style baking chips, and your favorite sugar-free sweetener. Enjoy it warm in a mug or stir a little into coffee as a white chocolate creamer.
Prep Time 2 minutes mins
Cook Time 5 minutes mins
Total Time 7 minutes mins
- 1 cup whole milk replace any portion with half-and-half or heavy cream
- 2 packets Truvia sweetener adjusted to taste
- 1/4 cup Lily’s white chocolate-style baking chips — no sugar added
Add the milk, sweetener, and white chocolate-style baking chips to a small saucepan.
Heat over low heat, stirring or whisking constantly. Move the whisk across the bottom of the saucepan to keep the mixture from scorching.
Continue heating and whisking until the chocolate is fully incorporated and the drink is smooth and steamy. Do not boil.
Remove from the heat and pour into a coffee mug. Allow it to cool to a comfortable drinking temperature before serving.
Alternatively, stir a small amount of the finished white hot chocolate into brewed coffee as a white chocolate creamer.
- Creamier option: Replace some or all of the milk with half-and-half or heavy cream. Keep the combined liquid at 1 cup
- Sweetener: Truvia is our favorite. Other sweeteners vary in strength, so adjust according to the package directions and your taste.
- Sugar content: This recipe has no added sugar when made with suitable ingredients, but it contains naturally occurring sugars.
- Keto: This recipe is not automatically keto. Carbohydrate content depends on the milk, cream, chips, and serving size.
- Larger batch: Multiply all ingredients by the number of servings and continue heating gently while whisking.
