Contact Plain Living Home

Hey, girl, hey! I’m so glad you’re here. Plain Living Home is all about helping mamas serve their families—whether you live in a small rural town, a big city, or anywhere in between—learn the skills that make life a little easier. From baking sourdough bread with fresh-milled flour to sewing handmade gifts, teaching homeschool lessons, or supporting missionaries, this is a place for everyday people who want to enjoy plain living right where they are.

Why Reach Out?

People from all over the U.S. (and even around the world!) get in touch for a lot of reasons. Maybe one of these sounds like you:

  • Cooking From Scratch – Do you have questions about sourdough starters, fresh-milled wheat, or scratch recipes that fit your family’s lifestyle? I love hearing what’s cooking in kitchens from New England to California. Our maybe you want to share a photo of one of my recipes that you made- send it over!
  • Sewing Tutorials & Patterns – Whether you sew at the kitchen table in a farmhouse, or in a city apartment, sewing brings people together. When I learned to sew, there weren’t many resources available and I learned a lot of things the hard way. Don’t be afraid to ask questions- I’ll be glad to share what I’ve learned. If you’ve tried one of my patterns, let me know how it went!
  • Homeschool Resources – Families across the country are creating their own paths in education. If you’d like encouragement, resources, or conversation about homeschooling, I’d love to help.
  • Hope Chest Ideas – The Hope Chest is a dying, forgotten tradition. But it doesn’t have to be. Let’s bring it back, together. From Southern traditions to Midwestern practicality, hope chests connect generations everywhere. Share your stories and skills so we can learn together.
  • Missionary & Church Planting Connections – Whether you’re serving in the States or abroad, or just curious about deputation, you’re welcome here.

Sourdough and fresh-milled flour are favorites, but I also share cooking-from-scratch recipes, sewing patterns and tutorials, hope chest ideas, homeschool resources, and posts about missionaries, church planting, and deputation.
Yes! Many popular posts started as reader requests. If you’d like a specific recipe, a sourdough troubleshooting guide for fresh-milled wheat, a sewing walkthrough, or a homeschool printable, send me a note.
Absolutely. While most readers are in the States, plain-living skills—like bread baking, scratch cooking, and sewing—translate anywhere. I love hearing from neighbors in Canada, Europe, and beyond.
